We have been largely led to believe that pandemics including COVID-19 are essentially medical problems with no societal linkages but, science is not sufficient and we have no option but to look into the science-soceity interface to effectively tackle and with some luck, avert future pandemics.

Third lecture in the Professor Ramji Upadhyaya Memorial Lecture series was successfully organized on July 24, 2021. The lecture series in organized every year on the day of Guru Purnima. Dr Prashant Kumar highlighted the life and works of Professor Ramji Upadhyaya.  Professor Ramji Upadhyaya was the The special lecture was delivered by Professor Mallickarjun Joshi, an eminent geologist who spoke at length on the idea of science-soceity reconnect, especially in times of Covid-19. The program was coordinated by Professor Kaishikee, Director, Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace at the Jamia Milia Islamia University.
